.... together with the rudder blade, also the propeller is coated with the *white* SILICONE BASED PAINT (significantly reduces water resistance, but very expensive paint & application) :- )))

Perhaps for blackout conditions when in convoy.. haha.
Such as the same reason that military Land Rovers ( & etc.) have a white painted differential on the rear axle, in blackout conditions it enables following vehicles to (just) detect in which direction they are supposed to be going!
