Here we have Laeisz reefer Pekari being assisted into the Empress Dock in Southampton in June 1973. The thing is the vessel is registered in Hamburg, has the call sign DIFK and yet is flying the flag of Panama. How does this work. Was she registered in Germany or Panama, or can ships have dual citizenship ?
