I have a colour photo of this ship from my Grandfather's slides. How do I add this for all of you to see?

Dennis, that is all very well, but the normal procedure is that you have permission BEFORE you post.

Yes I am aware the photographer retains copyright of his image. He or she will have to provide proof the shot image. I will make that any revenue regarding that image is given to the photographer.

Dennis, I think you are putting things in the wrong order. As a photographer you will always retain the copyright. It is not up him to prove that he has the copyright, it is up to you to prove that you have the photographer's permission to publish the photo. This is the general rule. In this case, the photographer could long be dead, and the copyright could have expired anyway, but in general one is not allowed to publish a photograph without permission.

I know Paul that the photographer will have top provide proof of copyright to me. When he does I will gladly add his name to the caption stating that he owns the copyright on it.

As long as he shows the source of the photo in which Dennis has done there is no issue.

I will gladly pass over copyright if someone prices it's their photo.

Interesting photo, but what are the copyright ramifications of photos found in antique stores ?

Canadian Transport, the shipping arm of forestry giant MacMillan and Bloedel Ltd., was the charterer. You can tell by the tree on the smokestack. As a child I remember seeing her and her sister the Roland loading lumber at Chemainus on Vancouver Island. Port Albierni and Chemainus were MB operations.

Wow, what a beauty! That's by far more gracious than the lines of contemporary super yachts - even as a fully laden cargo vessel.
28. May 1958 - delivered as "Neptun", Yard No. 303 Rheinstahl Nordseewerke, Emden for Det Bergenske, Bergen
1958 - "Haldor Virik" for Viriks Rederi, Sandefjord

1976 - "Lima" for Consorcio Naviera Peruano, Callao
1981 - "Mayflower" for Troyle Nav, Panama

I cannot remember the name of that Canadian charterer - the fir-tree logo was commonly seen in the UK around that time.

Anything on the back, Dennis?
