Description:

HMS Dauntless leaving Portsmouth harbour. 31/7/06

The bow of the navy's second Type 45 destroyer being towed on a barge from VT Shipbuilding in the naval base.
The 1,000-ton structure started its four-day voyage up to Glasgow to-day, where it will be welded by BAe Systems on to the main hull of HMS Dauntless.
VT is building the bows, funnels and masts for all six Type 45s that have been ordered so far by the government.
The first ship, HMS Daring, was launched earlier this year on the River Clyde and is expected to enter service in 2009.

Hi Steve, it was difficult choosing which pictures to use out of the twenty plus I shot, however all appears to be fine. I was lucky because of the harbour closier when on the Swash.
I also missed the Daring, no camera!!

Chris
