Hello Matt.You are right pilot ladder is always down..Strait is near 1/1.30 hours with average speed.it is short period
(Very dangeorus waterway but safety..all times under control by coast guard.)
it down for pilot and health control duty,(sometimes about a emergency situation.)

Great pic ilhan, and a real beauty of a new aframax. although one question i have had about your pics,is... why the pilot ladder is always down??? note also that most of the new builds have the stairs...(you can PM me the answer if you want)
