A different picture at flickr shows the crosses of the coat of arms of Amsterdam at her stern which indicates she is registered at Amsterdam. Googling for "zeilkotter de liefde" leads to an address in Amsterdam which might be the one of her owners. Could not find more in the web.

The Urk coat of arms shows a haddock (schelvisch). In her mainmast she flies a flag showing some kind of fish which might indicate that she is based at Urk. To me it looks like DE LIEFDE is a new addition to the huge Dutch fleet of sailing vessels.

Werner Jurkowski

Hi Werner,
You see indeed the Urker flag in her mainmast.
Tha adress in Amsterdam is not from this one, it's from the topsailschooner De Liefde with 3 masts.

Hello Frederik & Gerda,
Thanks a lot for your answers, at least we get a few pieces of the puzzle together.
The Amsterdam adress in connection with the topsail schooner DE LIEFDE confuses me a little bit. This DE LIEFDE is registered at Oostzaan and managed by the REDERIJ QUO VADIS at 's-Hertogenbosch, homepage http://www.de-liefde.nl/. This of course does not mean that Quo Vadis are the owners.
On the other hand, the topsail schooner certainly is not a sailkotter. Who knows, maybe someday we find another DE LIEFDE.

Best regards,
Werner

Thank you for sharing this picture. It helped identify a previous mystery picture seen. Does anyone know any basic details about this vessel, such as when and where built, and her length? She is the 4th vessel carrying this name, so it becomes difficult finding anything on the web. (the others are the 3-m Dutch hotel ship; there is a restoration project in Germany, also a 3-m; and lastly the replica in Japan.)

Hi Steve,
We can't find any baic details on the web about this vessel. What we only knows is that she was moored 2 years at Urk, then a young couple rebuilt her. They plannend sailing trips with tourists at the Black Sea.
You can see the Urker flag at her mast.

Frederik & Gerda :-D
