American Export Line's EXPORT COURIER as shown while upbound on the St.Lawrence River off Varennes on August 6, 1977.
In those days, many of the established US shipping companies such as American Export, Moore-McCormack, Lykes, Waterman and Farrell were still sending ships up the St.Lawrence River to Montreal or the Great Lakes. These were the good old days which ended in the early 80s when these companies ceased to exist or were gobbled up by other concerns.

excellent photo of this great ship, which is looking like a bulker. But the container on board generates the idea of a general cargo ship. A few of this type are lying still hidden in the place of teh Us reserve fleet. I got a photo from a sister 3 years ago by an Amreican friend.
