The USS LITTLE ROCK is paralyse in Montréal since December 24. 2017. On Friday afternoon January 19, 2018, the newly built Warship was transfer to Montréal Upper Port section.
Three Tugs from “ le Groupe OCEAN” were involved. A first tug broke the fin layer of ice located along the way.
A second tug towed the USS LITTLE ROCK and a third tug had a line secured to her stern.
The Corvette hull is not ice strengthened and has a jet-drive propulsion system which cannot operate in frazil and brash ice.
Also, the ship is not isolated for below zero temps. Water pipes could freeze and burst inside the ship. (galley, heads, engine space, etc.)
