Elder Dempster Line's 1958 Lithgows, Port Glasgow, built KUMBA is seen passing Portishead exactly fifty years ago today, on 7th April 1968, inbound for Avonmouth on a Henderson Line voyage from Rangoon - sailed via Akyab on 7th February 1968.
The Glasgow registered KUMBA, built for British & Burmese S.N. Co Ltd (Henderson Line), had transferred to Elder Dempster Lines in 1964.
Later: 1973 REGENT LIBERTY - sailed Jeddah 20.11.79 for Aqaba and then to breakers at Visakhapatnam where she was beached on 24.1.80
