Description:
The current EMPIRE STATE as shown while downbound on the St.Lawrence River off Verchères, Québec, on December 24, 1989. She had just come out of the Seaway from Sturgeon Bay where her conversion from general cargo ship (MORMACTIDE) to training ship was undertaken albeit in an uncompleted form. She is belching the most smoke I have ever seen from a ship's funnel.
I put her in the general cargo section as there is no heading for training ships.
