Thanks Clive,re the ISTROS, excellent news.it is always great when a vessel this old, built in 1954 is saved and restored,Yes I will try to monitor her progress. Having her elegant funnel taken off , I hope that they take care not to put some new ugly designed one in vice.
thanks and regards.

I have discovered news regarding the lovely yacht, Istros. All is well, it seems she was bought in April for restoration after a false-start on previous works to bring her back into service. So we can look forward to seeing her looking perfect again and can look forward to Emmanuel's photographs as the work progresses.

Thanks Jens, I now can discern what the removal of the graceful funnel has done to the ISTROS, and the fact that her hull colour looks different from her light baby blue colour .I completely did not realise that she is the ISTROS.
I first photographed her from a cliff top near Zurrieq.Malta.
thanks and regards

Thanks Clive, yes that is my hope, that she is undergoing a major refit rather then a conversion to a harbour/island cruise boat (lots of them around) or even more drastic: scrapping.
thanks and regards

I'm afraid that is the (once beautiful) yacht Istros - IMO 1000423. One can only hope that she is undergoing major renovation work rather than scrapping.

I shall try to, David. The trouble is that this particular dry dock can only be viewed from right across the creek, and is usually not visible when ships are moored just outside its caisson.
