Cia de Nav Lloyd Brasileiro's 1947 Montréal built LOIDE-CHILE (which was launched as CHILELOIDE) is seen at Norfolk, Va. in April 1968. She finally arrived at Castellon on 27th October 1969 for breaking.

Many thanks for your comments Gentlemen and season's greetings to you. David is absolutely correct that the photo was in fact taken at Norfolk, Va., and was dated April 1968. She had sailed from Rio de Janeiro on 18th March 1968 bound for Baltimore, arriving at New York on 22nd April. Best regards. Malcolm

With the beautiful Curtis Bay Towing Company tug TOWN POINT alongside, this would be Norfolk, Virginia and not Boston.

This is one of the real Lloyd's oldies;a total crew of+-56 all up .Steam turbine ,16/17 knots they used to brag ,I could never be part of it.Too young ,then. Still , many thanks...
