Description:

US Military Sealift Command Bob Hope class Large Medium Speed Roll On Roll Off strategic sealift ship tied up on the Elizabeth River in Norfolk VA.
She is part of the Atlantic Surge Force to ensure adequate sealift in the opening stages of a crisis. Built in New Orleans LA, she was completed in 2003. She has a capacity of 380,000 square feet of internal parking space plus over 49,000 square feet of exterior deck storage at 24 knots. She has a complement of 26 civilians when not in use, and 45 civilians and 50 US Navy when in use.
She is name for the Vietnam War Medal of Honor Recipient Master Sergeant Raul Perez "Roy" Benavidez.
