Description:

Ben Line's 1968 Scotstoun built BENCRUACHAN is seen passing Hoek van Holland, outbound from Rotterdam, on 21st June 1970 during a voyage from Hamburg to Kobe.

She finally arrived at Kaohsiung for breaking in May 1980.

Stunning photo of a beautiful ship. My father was 2nd Eng on Bencruachan in the early 70s including the fateful encounter with the freak wave. I was lucky enough to get a short trip on her as a young lad on one of the "wife and children trips" crew used to be allowed. Loved it of course.
