The 1949 Bruges built AVLIS, owned by Xanthopoulos & Co. and managed by Marcos Keusseoglou of Piraeus, is seen passing Portishead outbound from Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on 3rd October 1969.

AVLIS was sadly wrecked off Santorin Island on 6th April 1972 during a ballast voyage from Chalkis to Santorini.
