MANDALAY - IMO 7738383

There is someone responsible here who is Windjammer Barefoot Cruises.
For more information:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windjammer_Barefoot_Cruises

There it says:
In September 2007, Windjammer's entire fleet was suspended from operating any further cruises. Although the company initially stated that it intended to resume service, no significant steps in that direction took place. Customers who were already booked on future cruises did not receive refunds from the canceled voyages. All remaining parts of the company that were still operating were shut down in April 2008. Later that year, the company's assets were auctioned off. The four ships in their fleet as of the shut down were all laid up and were left in a neglected state of condition.

Active Ships:
S/V Mandalay
S/V Legacy

I sailed on Mandalay in 2014 but I believe that her owners ceased operating cruises on her a year or so later and the vessel was to be used in a humanitarian role around the Caribbean instead.

Friend Harvey Clive, how beautiful it must have been to sail in those beautiful boats!

He ship was operated by Windjammer Barefoot Cruises from 1982 until the operator went out of business in 2008.

Mandalay subsequently was purchased at auction, refurbished, and used as specialty cruise ship in the Galapagos islands off Ecuador by Angermeyer Cruises.

Most recently, the S/V Mandalay later sailed weekly out of Grenada for one and two-week cruises in the Grenadines for Sail Windjammer, Inc.

However, Sail Windjammer announced in early 2021 that the company would be ceasing operations due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and damage to the SV Mandalay.

Active Ships:

S/V Mandalay (ABANDONED)

S/V Legacy (scrapped)

S/V Polynesia (sold to Portuguese Navy, sunk, scrapped)

S/V Yankee Clipper (ABANDONED)

I was on her for 2 weeks sailing around the Grenadines. Yes, it was a beautiful experience. Tragic to think of her as being abandoned.
