Description:

Seen here at Trenton Edison (Trenton, MI) 1977 after losing her unloading boom.

Built in 1906 by Great Lakes Engineering Works, Ecorse, MI as the Frank C. Ball

Reconstructed as sand dredge by American Ship Building Co., Lorain, OH, in 1930 (537.66 x 56.16 x 27;). Converted to self-unloader by Manitowoc Ship Building Co., in 1941 (7254 gross - 4638 net). Repowered in 1960 (7522 gross - 5399 net). Lengthened by American Ship Building Co. in 1961 (597.66 x 56.16 x 27).

Scrapped at San Esteban de Pravia, Spain October, 1984.

My father was a Capt. on this ship in the 1960's His name was Robert Thomas Brickley. I have a letter address to him in 1960 or1961. My father died in 1966. He was returning to the ship in Port Huron MI and was killed in a car accident. I was 10 years old at the time. It is the only ship I have been able to find that he sailed as it has been so many years
