The GARNATA and the TOLETELA, I remember them quite well as they spent a considerable time tied up at the Malta Drydocks, mow Palumbo. The 2 vessels at the bottom right were small gas tankers.
thanks for your input canberra97.

To the extreme right of the photo can be seen one of the former Aznar Line twin sister ferries which were purchased by the Lybian government in June 1977.

It's either the GARNATA (MONTE GRANADA) or TOLETELA (MONTE TOLEDO).

Thanks for all inputs, I am sorry I cannot confirm or deny your discoveries. This photo was taken from the Upper Baracca gardens balcony, I remember taking a day off and taking my 9 year old son to watch the UGANDA leaving the dockyard ( I had been working on her as a dockyard worker whilst she was on her refit). I only had a small camera at that time.

To me, the ship behind the tanker looks like Stag Line's PHOTINIA - http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/search.php?search_imo=5277452
Or her sister, GLOXINIA - http://shipspotting.com/gallery/search.php?query=GLOXINIA&x=21&y=10

The tanker in the front is a Soflumar ship, either Port Briac or Port Maria.

The second one looks like a former T2 ship, converted for dry cargo, but it could be a smaller vessel.

Any one knows the names of the two tankers moored in mid harbour to Admiralty buoys? On the extreme right is a Libyan ferry if I am not mistaken.
