Oh she certainly caught one's attention! Lots of sheer as well. I think I had the same thoughts as your friend when I first saw the ANEK funnel colours as a kid somewhere in the 90s.

I think that the reason I liked it was because it was so bizarre. Standing by it one just could not look away. A friend that was with me was not so impressed and criticised her badly-kept appearance, with the yellow paint peeling off her one time blue funnels. It was amusing to point out that what he was seeing were in fact her actual funnel colours, it being a representation of a map of Crete. I'm not wholly sure that he believed me.

And to think that the esteemed designers of Knud E. Hansen masterminded this bizarre conversion...
