Description:

Today it is exactly 37 years ago that Holland got to deal with a fully unexpected storm during Ascension Day. There were several casualties on pleasure ships, but the larger ships also had some problems.
This is the Eddie Hsu owned OBO Coal Transporter which had about finished discharging (tapicoa?) at the GEM Grain terminal, when she broke her moorings and drifted towards the northern bank of the Caland Canal, where she gently grounded. The location is just east of the tug harbour, well before the IWT tanker anchorage was developed.
