Vessel hardening is commonplace and it's not always possible due to limited crew and or SSO's onboard to always set-up and take down as with the case of barbedwire etc. Pirates are fully aware of this....obviously...however from a distance and having return fire aimed at them they become disorientated and unsure of the difference between humans and dummies. The Stolt products tanker STOLT APAL (IMO 9719240) has reported coming under attack from armed pirates 104 nautical miles South East of Al Mukal in Yemen, in position 13° 43N 050° 37.4E on Sunday 17 May 2020.

I hope that these modern day pirates are not followers of shipspotting.com as this will then defeat this anti-piracy action. And will the gender equality movement object if these are only male dummies?.....or are they?
