Description:

This cargo ship with sugar (1937) went aground in 1968 in Canal Messier, when the captain tried to sink it to claim insurance. The ´sinking´went wrong and the ship is still firmly \"on the rocks\"

Hello Rijsdijk,
round christmas 1979 we passed close to her with the small chilenean mailboat "Rio Baker" and she looks still pretty much the same as more than 40 years ago.
Quality shipbuilding....

It was not in 1963 but april 1968 she grounded. She was originally Mowinckels Norwegian-flagged MOLDA / MOLDA COUNTY, built 1937 at Bremen and sold off in 1963. The history about captain who tried to sink the vessel has never been mentioned earlier, where comes that information from ?
