Description:
The 1954 Short Bros, Sunderland, built UNION, owned by V.N.Mavreas & J.S.Akritas, trading as Seaways (London) Ltd, is seen passing Hoek van Holland, outbound from Rotterdam, on 10th May 1971 for Sorel and Thunder Bay following discharge of a cargo from New Orleans.
EX- ARNA - 61 SABRE PURPOSE - 62 MICA - 70
On 10th October 1971, when about 130 miles off Freetown during a voyage from Gdynia to Chittagong with a cargo of coal, UNION caught fire, sinking six days later.
