Description:

Shaw, Savill & Albion Line's 1950 Belfast built SUEVIC is seen passing Portishead, outbound from Avonmouth, on the evening tide exactly 50 years ago.

She had sailed from Wellington on 23rd April 1970 bound for London (arrived 29th June), Liverpool and Glasgow

There was a lengthy dock strike at Avonmouth, which may have been nationwide, during most of July 1970. Her call at Avonmouth in August 1970 may have been an unscheduled consequence of the strike.

SUEVIC finally arrived at Kaohsiung on 6th June 1974 for breaking.
