Shown August 1965 on the St. Marys River, Michigan, USA, approaching the Soo Locks. The *Maas* is a good example of the type of modern cargo liner that flourished in the lakes-international trade during the decade following the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1959.

Does anyone know what became of her?

Hi tonylast,

she was one of a serie of sistervessels, built in the late 1950's by FSG. I think, she was scrapped in China in the 1990's.
Sisters of her were the NORDWIND, NORDSTERN, NORDMEER+NORDLAND, all (132,0 x 18,4 x 8,59 m).
NORDMEER sank on 1966.11.19 in Thunder Bay Is, near Alpena, Michigan.

Thanks for posting this great pic!

Kind rgds,
Arne
