Description:

Many of the photos I've been posting to Shipspotting.com were taken when I was between 9 and 14 years old, using a very indifferent camera, so I apologize for their lack in resolution compared to today's digital product. Back then, though, I was always overjoyed to encounter a Poseidon vessel, because these were incredibly photogenic ships: Black, white, and red; elegant, but purposeful, and immaculately maintained. Few vessels could photograph so well, and look so good in person, too.

Launched as *Yvonne* 12 July 1945 at Gothenburg by A/B Lindholmens Varv., hull no. 979, for Rederi A/B Disa, Stockholm. 440'11" x 53'1" x 23'1.75;" 3941 gt, 1843 nt; twin 9-cylinder Eriksbergs Diesels, 500mm x 900mm, twin screw.

Sold 1957 to Poseidon Schiffahrt GmbH, Hamburg, and renamed *Transcanada.* Later *Good Faith* (1967). Broken up at Dalian, 1972.

Shown loading grain on the Calumet River, Chicago, Illinois, USA, May 1960.

Poseidon was a good company to work for. She was my home 1966/67. Loved the Great Lakes in late summer and getting these huge peaches along the Welland Canal.

Thanks Tony for yor nice words!
I sailed on her as OS in 1964 and we put lots of efforts in it to maintain her shipshape. We were proud of our ship at that time.
