Description:

Ghana Black Star Line's 1969 Cadiz built SUBIN RIVER is seen arriving at Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on 28th August 1970.

Later: 1987: MILOS.F (Zoulias Brothers & Co., Piraeus)

She was immediately resold to Indian breakers and beached at Sachana during April 1987.

Clarification ... BP Hamble is storage/distribution only, no refining.Been up for sale approx 3 years ..no takers.Think Acfop means Hythe not Heath. (New Forest side of Southampton Water)

Great shot Malcolm!

How pity i wasn't taking pictures of tankers passing in and out of Southampton waters during my cadetship at Warsash. College was at the Solent side, where the BP refinery is situated in the river Hamble, and opposite to major Esso refinery at Fawley, near Heath.
