Description:
The Austin & Pickersgill, Sunderland, built SD14 type EPIMENIDIS is seen discharging a cargo of bulk animal feedstuffs at the Duke Street berth on Cavendish Quay, Birkenhead, on 13th September 1982. The initials HMC painted on her side are thought to those of a German charterer which specialised in the carriage of animal feedstuffs.
Ordered as ARCADIAN VALOUR by Tropica Ultramar S.A., Piraeus, she was delivered in 1973, as TOGO for a charter to DAL, then in 1976 she was renamed CAPE PRIDE.
Purchased by N.J.Andriopoulos of Piraeus in 1980 to become EPIMENIDIS, she was renamed EXPEDIENT in 1984.
Sold to Hong Kong based operators in 1996, she was then named JOIN CHEUNG, finally arriving at Alang on 6th January 1999 to be broken up.
