Description:
Federal Steam Navigation Company's RAKAIA is seen laying by at Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on 4th December 1970
Built at Belfast as EMPIRE ABERCORN in 1945, she took the name RAKAIA in 1946 and continued trading for only a few more months when sold to Hong Kong breakers, arriving there on 22nd August 1971.
