Description:
The Lebanese flag BERYTE, owned by Associated Levant Lines (T.Gargour et Fils) of Beirut, was photographed sailing from Heysham, North Lancashire on 28th April 1998 after discharging a cargo of PVC pellets loaded in "jumbo bags"
She was among the very last large general cargo ships to call at Heysham as the Port ceased to serve such traffic, along with timber and potato imports, just a few days later.
A Trampko type built at Lübeck in 1970 as DOROTHEA BOLTEN, she became BACHUE in 1978, TERENGA in 1981, BERYTE in 1986 and AMIN A. in 2002, owned by Ismail Shipping of Tartous, Syria.
A further renaming to ACIO.A in September 2007 seems not to have occurred and, still as AMIN A., she was sent to Aliaga in January 2011 for breaking, being beached there on 22nd January.
