AVANTI, owned by Nikolaos Frangos & Nicholas G.Moundreas of Piraeus, is seen passing Rozenburg outbound from Rotterdam on 30th August 1991

She was delivered by Austin & Pickersgill at Sunderland in 1971 to Felix Scheder-Beischen & Co, Hamburg as COSMOKRAT and time chartered to Alianca.

By 1980 she, along with sistership COSMONAUT, was owned by Infrutra GmbH who renamed her DURBAN CARRIER, probably for a liner charter to South Africa.

Sold to Greek owners Syros Shipping (L.M. Valmas) in 1981, she operated as IRINI II (and still often operating on liner services including Anchor Line from UK to India/Pakistan) until her sale to Frangos & Moundreas in 1985.

AVANTI was beached at Alang on 20th February 1999 for breaking.
