On 03/08/1999, when in the port of El Aáiun, Western Sahara, a serious fire broke and gutted the accommodation.
In this image, the accommodation is being rebuilt (albeit to a differing design from the original), and later, an excavator was placed on rails on deck.

The vessel was then used to transport sands for the construction industry.

Keel laid on 10/03/1977, launched on 12/12/1977 and completed on 31/12/1977 by Astilleros Murueta, Guernica, Spain (134)
1,598 g.t. and 2,750 dwt., as:
'Elexalde' to 2001 and
'Gelfo' until 14/11/2002, when:
during a laden voyage with sand from Cadiz to Agadir, Morocco, the vessel foundered some 23 miles from the port of Safi.

Eleven crew members were on board, two Filipino sailors were lost.
