Description:

The Russian reefer ALEKSANDRA KOLLONTAY is seen northbound in the Suez Canal on 29th May 1996 during a voyage from her home port of Vladivostok to Novorossisk.

Built by the Gdanska Lenina shipyard, Poland, in 1970 (yard B443/01) for the U.S.S.R's Latvian Shipping Company, in 1993 she was sold to the Far Eastern Shipping Company.

Later: 1998 ARKTUR (ZAO "Dalrefservis", from 2002 JSC Pacific Reefer Shipping Co, Vladivostok)

When first posted twelve years ago, Allan RO had commented as follows:

"interesting to note that only this one, the first, and Otomar Oshkaln, the 12th and last are still operational, both incidentally operated by Pacific Reefer services."
