Launched 20 May 1905 at West Bay City, MI, by the West Bay City SBCo., hull no. 614, as *Socapa* for the Superior SSCo., Duluth, MN. 504’ x 54 x 26.7; 6272 gt, 4826 nt; triple expansion steam engine, 23.5”-38-63 x 42, 1600-ihp, by Detroit SBCo.
Later *George G. Barnum* (1915) and *Hennepin* (1937). Converted to a self-unloader, 1956-57. Broken up 1975-1977 at Humberstone, Ontario.
Shown September 1963 loading coal on the calumet River, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Retired from service in late 1974, she remained a hand-fired coal-burner to the very end.
