T&J Harrison's 1960 built ADVENTURER was photographed passing Portishead, outbound from Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on 1st May 1971 during a voyage from Tanga in Tanzania to Avonmouth, Belfast and Liverpool.
In 1979 ADVENTURER was sold to Capt. S.Karnessis & Mrs D.Vlassakis (European Navigation Inc) of Piraeus who renamed her ELEFTHERIA but laid her up at Ghent on 29 June 1982 and then sold her to breakers at Gadani Beach where work commenced on 11th May 1985.
