One might wonder what is behind such an acquisition...? MSC seem to be increasing their presence in Atlantic Canada. In addition to regularly calling Saint John, I noticed MSC visiting Halifax as well. That coupled with their Freeport Bahamas connection, perhaps using a feeder vessel might be more economical than using their current larger class vessel(s) on this "coastal" route.....?

That is a silly price for a 19 year old ship, of which many of her type already went to the scrapyard.
