Your welcome Jarrod, I wasn't able to get the FAME in the narrows, she didn't spend much time here, or she was in when I wasn't down there.

Dean

This vessel looks like it is built in Norway, perhaps at Langsten.
Have an idea that is a former prawn trawler from the Faroe Islands...Under the paint a former fishing number can be seen..is it TN 123 ?

Ole..

TN 123 "Hvitanes" is combined with prawfishing. Don't know how many vessels the farose owners have had with that name, but here is a pic from Greenland:

Hi Regin
Thanks for adding the link to the pic of FD 279. I looked at it, but the FD 279 is not the same Fame as this one. By study of both pictures a list of differences can be made...furthermore is the pic of FD 279 from december 2001 and this red FAME above sank in 2001 !

Regin, I remember you have in your files a pic of TN 123 "Hvitaness" taken on Greenland late 70's. I thought it was this vessel, but this FAME have larger wheelhouse etc..so they are not the same unless the old TN 123 have undergone a large rebuilding..

How many prawntrawlers have had the number TN 123 ? which I think is the number we can see in the red paint on the pic of this FAME.

Regards
Ole..

Hi Ole.

Thanks for correcting me. ( Again :-D )
Hvítanes TN 123 ended her days as the Seafresh 1 in Hanson Bay, Chatham Islands, New Zeeland March 2000 where she sank after an engine room fire.
It can be seen here: http://www.fv-gaul.org.uk/Images_by_date/xpres0406/Slide303.JPG It was older and smaller than Fame.
Regarding the fishing-numbers, I will have to do some digging.

Regards
Regin
