Description:
16/11/2021, under demolition by Logiscrap S.A, at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain.
0n 08/08/2021, following a joint investigation by the National Police (Policía Nacional) and Tax Agency (Agencia Tributaria, & in collaboration with the French authorities (DNRED), the ship, under the Palau flag, was located and intercepted by two Customs Surveillance Service vessels, the 'Sacre' and the 'Halcón' about 40 miles southeast of Fuerteventura.
Officials detected that the ship was at serious risk of sinking, as it had significant leakages and engine deficiencies.
Once boarded, the operatives were able to verify that in addition to carrying a cargo of plaster, there was also a significant quantity of hashish in its hold, for which reason its eleven Syrian crew members were arrested.
The boat was seized and taken to the Port of Las Palmas where a more exhaustive search of the vessel revealed a total of 638 bales, totaling 19,876 kilos of hashish.
The ship has since been awarded to the State and sold for demolition.
