Description:

Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT)'s 1947 St.Nazaire built WINNIPEG is seen passing Rozenburg on 22nd July 1973 inbound for Rotterdam from Havre. She was laid down as Hapag`s MANNHEIM in 1943 and taken over by France in 1945.

Later: 1975 LAMBROS L.

On about 9th March 1977 she departed from Limassol but suffered damage and was not again reported moving until 24th February 1978 when she put into Port Kheli Harbour in Portocheli, Peleponnese, Greece, with a fire in her cargo. Although reported to have been sold to Taiwan breaker, she was beached near Piraeus on 24th March 1983 for breaking.

Other vessels in the fleet of World Tide Shipping Corporation, the former Sea Ship Nav. Corp. owned by T.D.Baglantzis, were also abandoned in the 1970s.

Hi Malcolm, are you sure about the building date? According to Miramar she left the Penhoet yard in January 1950, after having been launched during 20 1947.
