Thanks Pica. If we've got the first name then the second is definitely Chile - I'd narrowed it down to Emile or Chile when I looked at the original through the magnifying glass. Very satisfying to know. Many thanks.

I googeld Lloyd Brasileiro and found "Loide Paraguay", Loide Canadá", "Loide Chile" and "Loide Bolivia. Could be any of the four on the foto

Hello Pegpilot,

it is a Lloyd Brasileiro steamship, former american/canadian standard war design. They were running until the late sixties onthe brazilian Europe route.
Names were "Lloide ....." , as far as I remember named after southamerican countries.
