Description:

Destination: Tanger Med, Morocco
From: Montreal, Canada

German container ship operator Hapag-LLoyd has sold five 3,237TEU sisters to London-based Lomar Shipping.
Charleston Express (now VELIKA EXPRESS), Philadelphia Express, St Louis Express, Washington Express and Yorktown Express were handed over
in late July and Early August and chartered back to the Hamburg-based operator.
...
Ordered by CP Ships for services to Central America in December 2000, the 243m-long ships were completed between June 2002 and February 2003 by China Shipbuilding Corp (CSBC) at their Kaohsiung facility. Fitted with four cranes capable of lifting 45 tonnes, the ships were among the largest geared-container ships when they entered service.

During their time with CP Ships, they operated for several of the company's subsidiaries, including Lykes Brothers, before being merged into the Hapag-LLoyd fleet following the $2 billion take-over of CP Ships in 2005.
