Yes, it is really shame about the end of the ferry on the Elbe river :-(
The only other Elbe crossing is between Glückstadt and Wischhafen near Hamburg. But these service is beleaguered, there is car traffic jam all the time. The new ferry would be a good alternative about that. Very pity about.

It's such a shame that this route cannot be made to pay, as it strikes me as a very useful route. There must be other routes across the Elbe ?

Hello Marcus, excellent picture of this ferry, thanks for sharing with us. Sadly the ferry service between Cuxhaven and Brunsbüttel has been suspended once more with Elbferry declaring insolvency in November 2021.
