The restored 'Koningin Emma' is back in the old centre of Flushing. At this place she was built in 1933, at the Schelde yard.
History:
-1933 KONINGIN EMMA, ferry on the Western Scheldt, between Hansweert, Hoedekenskerke and Terneuzen
-1939 used as auxiliary minelayer in World War II
-17 May 1940 sunk near Breskens, no major damage.
-approx 1955 extended to 60 meters, and enters a new ferry service on the Oosterschelde between Kats and Zierikzee.
-1965 Oosterschelde ferry service becomes redundant due to construction of the Zeeland Bridge, KONINGIN EMMA becomes redundant.
1968 renamed EMMA, lodging ship in Wolphaartsdijk.
1974 renamed ESTRELLA DEL SUR, nightclub in Rotterdam.
1976 renamed ESTRELLA, sold to Rederij Vrolijk in Scheveningen. Used for sport fishing.
2021 renamed KONINGIN EMMA, sold to PSDnet and investors, back at the former Schelde yard in Flushing after a restoration at Shipyard Reimerswaal in Flushing.
