Thanks very much Andrew, these large Maersk's are usually here at weekends. But rumour is once there are enough of this series in service. A new fast service from Europe-Fare East will see them only call at Rotterdam and Bremerhaven in Europe!

Really impressive photo, it´s funny looking as her superstructure is higher than the cranes. :-D

Thanks Pekka,
It does indeed look strange to see the superstructure so high in relation to the cranes.
Dare say there will be an incident or two before long!!

Well caught Derek, I see John was in your territory today, as I said to him those cranes look mighty close.

Hi Ken,
thanks for that, unfortunately John's visit was just a flying one. One day we will meet up!

Glad you caught her too Derek! A last minute circumstance today enabled me to get out briefly to see this one unexpectedly. I managed to drive the 160 mile round trip and photograph her from two locations in just over 3 hours (I also tried to take in Ipswich but couldn't find anywhere to see the ships from, it's been a while since I was last there :-) )
I wasn't hanging about but it was a great sight :hammer:

John J.

Hi John,
Will have a look at your photos shortly.
Glad you could get to see her.
The best places to see ships at Ipswich are as follows. The Strand,by the Orwell Bridge you can park there and walk to see them. Also good views from Fox's marina, I normally just drive in!
No one is normally interested in you when you produce a camera and take photos of the ships.
There are other places will have to send you a map.
regards
Derek
