One of three tankers to be built for own account at the RSV yard of Heusden. She was lauched as PROTAM WAAL but before delivery she (and her sisters) found a buyer in the person of Ernst Jacob, and so she started her trading life as ERIKA JACOB . The other two ships were launched with their JACOB names, GERTRUD and DIRK.

Erika is shown here in the 7th Petroleum Dock early eighties. She traded for Jacob till 1997 when she was sold and renamed NIASE.
