Description:

The Turkish tanker Esram, incoming Europoort, around 1983.
She was originally the Esso tanker Esso Goa, one a large group of product tankers of around 21000 DWT ordered ordered by Esso Intrernational with IHI and Hitachi in Japan. Goa was delivered in July 1996 from the IHI Kure shpiyard (#172)

Later product tankers ordered by Esso were significantly larger and the small ones were disposed of relatively early. Goa was sold in 1982 to Turkish interests, who initially operated her TESUBU but later in the same year renamed her ESRAM

This lasted quite long as her end came in 2002 on the beach of Alang.

Thanks Ian, I have seen later photos of her with the G in the white band on the funnel, but obviously the first measure was to wipe out the ESSO logo, before the local Picassos could star working.
