Description:

The gas-tanker EL PASO COVE POINT is here seen during outfitting at Avondale Shipyards, New Orleans in december 1976.
This vessel had a complicated start of life, as it seems like she was not built finish and not handed over to her owners, instead she got a long period of lay-up.
She was later transferred to Ulsan, where she in 1983 was completed by Hyundai Mipo Shipyard as OBO-carrier JADE PHOENIX.
In 1991 she was renamed COAST JADE, and rebuilt to storage tanker. Later same year she was renamed COASTAL JADE and then NORDIC APOLLO.
In 2006 she was renamed APOLLO SPIRIT, and in december 2020 she arrived at Aliaga, Turkey for B/U.

Just to add, as JADE PHOENIX, she traded as an OBO carrier. She never served the purpose she was intended for, i.e. an LNG tanker.
