Description:
DELFT, company: Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij NV at Amsterdam (in short K.N.S.M.).
Built 1943 by Pennsylvania Shipyards Inc at Beaumont, Texas, yard# 284. Dimensions: 125.65 / 120.96 x 18.32 x 11.51 x 7.59 m, 5188 grt, 3084 nrt, 8120 dwt. Two 6-cil Nordberg diesels, 4.150 hp, 14 knots, single screw. War built cargo type C1-A(M).
Delivered October 1943 as CAPE SABLE to U.S. War Shipping Administration, same month as WILLEM MARIS bareboat-charter to Netherlands Shipping & Trading Committee in London, handed over to K.N.S.M. as FORT NASSAU. In November 1946 sold to K.N.S.M., renamed DELFT, in November 1967 sold as CAMINA BAY, in 1968 as TIA JUANA, in January 1970 scrapped by Leung Yau Shipbreaking Co Ltd at Hongkong.
