Description:
A view of the Benelux dock (around 1980) in the Europoort, taken from the end of the famous Rozenburg Landtong, showing three things unlikely to ever return there.
First there is this jetty, that had no function any more, only to please the fishermen and was demolished soon after this shot, in order to make the passing through the Breeddiep more easy
Secondly there is full activity on the GEM terminal with the discharge of Tapioca, first from the the Endeavor (Ex Fernlane) and then there is the Krupp OBO Elbe Ore, (Ex Bretagne) and the funnel of one of the Getty ore/oilers (Texas or Washington Getty?) can just be seen at the extreme right in the picture
And thirdly, the is the 410000 DWT Berge ULCC Berge Empress. discharging at the Shell 104 jetty. Current visitors are always 100000 DWT or more smaller than this one.
