Description:
Panama-registred tanker CANDY I is here seen in Jøssingfjord, southwestern Norway, in august 1990. Jøssingfjord is a small fjord which got it's fame in february 1940, when people from british HMS COSSACK boarded the German ALTMARK. This was before Norway was occupied by Germany, and Norway was a neutral country. ALTMARK had around 300 prisoners on board, mostly british seamen, which she had got from ADMIRAL GRAF SPEE in South America, and should bring to Germany.
CANDY I was built 1964 at Karlstad, Sweden, and was lengthened in 1971.
